Outdoor Beginner/Instructional Pickleball at Webster - Sunday Afternoon
St. Louis Beginners Pickleball Meetup Group
Our Reservation Team has reserved Courts 5, 6, and 7 from 3:00-4:30, but we can play longer. This is the winter play time, weather permitting.
The entrance is next to the water park, blue circled walkway.
**If you haven't signed up - don't show up and expect to play. Uninvited will be asked to leave if there is no extra space.**
**Beginners- If you need instruction or a paddle, please contact Steve, the organizer. If you want to buy a beginner paddle, I have them for $10..**
**This is intended to be fun but not competitive play, those seeking competition can go elsewhere.**
**All experienced pickleball players are expected to assist with teaching beginners learn to play.**
**Also, take it easy on beginners, have had some complaints. Please be considerate.**
**No bullies please! If you have a great serve that no one can hit, please don't use it.**
**Please donate - or use Venmo - @Steven-Donatiello - last 4 of phone 5948, or cash is always welcome! MeetUp fees, which I pay, are $110 per 6 months. Thanks**
**The front desk has ice for injuries and Saint Mary's ER is the closest ER open late and the phone number is 314-768-8000 option 3. There is a new Total Access Urgent Care at 7816 Big Bend 314-476-6173, somewhat closer open 8-8.**
**Never run backwards!!**
This meet-up is for beginners to learn the sport without having to sign up for lessons, etc. I and others have spare paddles, and experienced players will provide instruction. We pair beginners with experienced players to help with the short learning curve for this sport.
I play when weather is permitting, over 40 and <10 mph wind and dry.
Please come to the tennis courts' office area to meet.
Fees are $3 for residents with ID card (which costs $5) or $5 for non-residents. Memberships are $60/$90 for resident and non-residents, so if you like the group, buy an annual membership and maybe save some money-but wait until January as these passes are valid January-December.
**Please remember, Pickleball is the leading cause of Emergency Room visits by those over 50, so take it easy.**
Bring lots of water and a brimmed cap to keep out the glare of the sun/lights. Gloves for once it gets colder.
Let's make these a good way to get light exercise.
