June 13 Utz-Teson explanation

St. Louis Historic Sites History Meetup It used to be if you had to cancel an event, Meetup gave you an option to message those who had RSVP'd Yes to go. Welp, not sure if that changed or what, but when I went to cancel the event, I was given no option to message those who had RSVP'd yes. What happened: someone messaged saying they didn't see the house on the list of houses open this Saturday. Utz-Teson has been on the list of houses for the Historic St Louis weekends for years. I visited it last year in June. It is not on the list for this year. I tried to find a contact in Hazelwood to try and find out what was going on. No luck there, so I called Gina Seibe, President of Historic Florissant Inc. She told me Hazelwood decided not to open the Utz-Teson house for the event this year. Their reasoning was they didn't have enough volunteers. Gina offered volunteers from her group (because if you are part of Historic St Louis you are required to be part of their 2 events - a June event and a December event). They turned Gina down. It's too late to try and schedule something else for this weekend for our group. It's a disappointment; I've been trying to get a tour at Utz-Teson for several years now. All of the houses open this Saturday are on my rotation of places we are going - we'll see them all sometime over the next 7 years - but if you want to see any now, you can still go on your own. http://historicsaintlouis.org/summer-event/
