Join Education Representative Wilson Newman as he explores the history, daily life, and people that built America’s first city and learn about the site’s preservation and the ongoing efforts of the Cahokia Mounds State Historic Site. About the Presenter: Wilson Newman is the Education Representative for Cahokia Mounds State Historic Site, where he develops educational programs and conducts outreach to schools and community organizations. He previously served as assistant director for Old School Museum in Winchester, Illinois, for ten years and has taught public school history and social studies for the past eight years. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Historic Preservation from SEMO and completed the Teacher Education Program at the UIS.
