Young Artist Competition

The UMSL Music Department is thrilled to announce the 2026 Young Artist Competition! This year’s competition will take place on Friday, November 20, 2026, at the Touhill Performing Arts Center in the Lee Theater. Information about auditions for the Young Artist Competition can be found by selecting College Division or Junior Division. Our annual Young Artist Competition is a vibrant showcase of emerging talent from UMSL and high schools across the Midwest. The competition offers gifted young musicians a rare and inspiring opportunity to perform as soloists with the UMSL Symphony Orchestra. It has become a celebrated platform for artistic growth, community engagement, and musical excellence.
