Embers of Pan-Africanism: Nkrumahist Intellectuals and Decolonization 1960-1980

Dr. Bright Gyamfi visits UMSL to provide a research lecture on his upcoming book project. Dr. Gyamfi is a historian of Africa and the African Diaspora whose work examines Pan-Africanism, Black internationalism, decolonization, and economic development. His research explores the transnational networks of African intellectuals and the global circulation of Nkrumahist and Pan-Africanist thought globally. He earned his Ph.D. from Northwestern University, his M.S. from the University of Oxford, and his B.A. from the University of Notre Dame. His scholarship has been supported by the National Endowment for the Humanities, Fulbright, and the Social Science Research Council.
