Make stuff, eat snacks, have fun! Maker Lab is an opportunity for teens and tweens to build valuable tech skills. We'll be working with 3D printing tech, Arduino circuit kits, and more to explore, experiment, and develop the proficiencies and mindsets needed to build the world of tomorrow. This month, we will be exploring Scratch, a simple visual coding language that allows teens to create stories, animation, games, and more."Scratch is the world’s largest coding community for children and a coding language with a simple visual interface that allows young people to create digital stories, games, and animations. Scratch is designed, developed, and moderated by the Scratch Foundation, a nonprofit organization.Scratch promotes computational thinking and problem solving skills; creative teaching and learning; self-expression and collaboration; and equity in computing." - Description from the Scratch website.Parents can set up a Scratch account for their teen or tween here. Teens and tweens can still participate in the Maker Lab without a Scratch account.
